WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Project learning, also known as project-based learning, is a dynamic approach to teaching in which students explore real-world problems and challenges, simultaneously developing cross-curriculum skills while working in small collaborative groups.

I would say that the method can be used for all levels of education though it would be advisable to have basic knowledge to help the students apply critical thinking.

The method is popular today because it is part of a frame of the 21 Century education. It also has been used successfully for more than 15 years on developed countries.

PBL relates to distance learning because people can work on the web, collaborate, and they can use web2.0 tools to optimize results. This way they save time and can use the web for research.

Katherine Tobey stresses the validity of the project method when she says, “Only in the act of doing does one discover that the process is more important than the product. It is in the process that the learning takes place. Having had their own experiences in creative expression, adults become more sensitive teachers and more well-rounded persons” (Learning and Teaching Through the Senses, Westminster Press, Philadelphia, Pa.).

-Why it is popular today.
- How it relates to distance-learning.
- Is it appropriate for all ages?
- Is it appropriate for all subject disciplines?
- Challenges unique to this teaching method.

    Hello!
    -Why it is popular today.
It seems to me that this method is popular nowdays because it gives an opportunity both to teachers and students to develop their creative potential without any borders, I mean spatial.
    - How it relates to distance-learning.
The relation is obvious because the objective of this activity is the provision of training aimed at developing the creative abilities of young people by useing innovative teaching methods based on the full use of the capabilities of information and communication technologies.
    - Is it appropriate for all ages?
    I think yes.
    - Is it appropriate for all subject disciplines?
    Sure.
    - Challenges unique to this teaching method.
An opportunity to cooperate in a single space of Web2.0 tools using colourful templates, developing creativeness and what's not!
    Thank you very much!!!
